not only are these lyrics to a bethany dillon song, but they tell a lot about my lifes desires if u will. ive always felt that i reli dont belong in the world. both because i am a very strange person =P and because i know where my real home is. there are some nice things here, but so much of it painfully temporal. i cant tell u how many times ive prayed for Jesus to hurry and take me home. this is not cuz im emo and want to die or anything. theres just this keen sense within me for my real home and worthwhile permanence. blissful eternity.
this carries over into my the life here that i have yet to live. yes, i was born in canada & i love it here, but what is one place compared to another when it will all soon fade? so the value in living the lives weve been given is not to accumulate possessions and permanence but to glorify God with our lives and store up for ourselves things that will never be destroyed. i want to see as much of God in this world as possible. and as he is both within me and everywhere in his creation, i want to see him there. ill take him with me wherever i go, share him with those i meet, see how he works in those he loves and even in those who do not love him in return.
simplicity and minimalism are truly beautiful. im coming to believe this more and more as i wander through this life of dust.
