Management

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesnt matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, thats not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, Ill have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, youll have to call an ambulance. In each case, its the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued, "And thats the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we wont be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When were refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.
"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Dont carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after youve rested."

Life is short. Enjoy it!

Songs for your Easter weekend:
Why - Nichole Nordeman
"My precious Son, I hear them screaming
I'm watching the face of the enemy beaming
But soon I will clothe You in robes of My own
Jesus, this hurts Me much more than You know
But this dark hour I must do nothing
Though I've heard Your unbearable cry
The power in Your blood destroys all of the lies
Soon You'll see past their unmerciful eyes
Look there below, see the child
Trembling by her father's side
Now I can tell You why
She is why You must die"

In Christ Alone - Newsboys
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From lifes first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ Ill stand.

Back to Basics

happy bday to Kim H (friday), Jacky (saturday), Yoyo (sunday), and Daniel (wednesday)!

yesterday was a wierd day.. stuff happened and i actually remember. lately i havent been remembering things that i do. yesterday was youth at my church and we're beginning a study of Ecclesiastes:

"Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." What does man gain from all his labour at which he toils under the sun? The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again. All things are wearisome, more than one can say. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow.

And this is all i can think about. we also watched a clip from a video called Baraka. wow, u can take a 10 preview of what its like here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7877306475042790908&q=baraka&pl=true, though i dont recommend watching after about 5 mins.. it starts to get reeeli sad. as in, im now seriously looking into veganism sad. this video is about 3 hours long, tho at youth we just watched about 20 mins. i believe it was all filmed in Japan. words just cant describe.. life is too much like this. running here and there, never stopping, and at the end of the day when ur staring at the ceiling above your bed you realise its all been.. meaningless. it might as well have been me in that video cuz its not like theres anything truly unique or interesting going on. ive worn out my welcome in this place.

why am i even here - on blogger i mean. lets face it: im an introvert. i take a long time to mull things over. i need a lot of alone time and being around other people too much wears me out. im overly pensive. this makes no sense. and heyy lets face it, we both have better things to do - things with more "meaning", whatever they are. dunno if posting my thoughts here is reli for me. im gonna go read through Ecclesiastes again.
